{"id":46047,"date":"2022-07-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southafricagazette.com\/?guid=927355c2e8ab3ca0843fe71b8a34f544"},"modified":"2022-07-07T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-07T00:00:00","slug":"renewable-energy-bidders-conference-kicks-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricagazette.com\/renewable-energy-bidders-conference-kicks-off\/","title":{"rendered":"Renewable energy bidder&#8217;s conference kicks off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) will host a Bidders Conference today for renewable energy producers and stakeholders in relation to government\u2019s call for bids under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) bid window six.<\/P><P>The REIPPPP is aimed at urgently addressing the country\u2019s energy needs and deficit by adding more megawatts to the grid through renewable energy sources.<\/P><P>The department launched the request for proposals for the sixth bid window in April and says the conference is an opportunity for stakeholders to clarify issues or needs with the department.<\/P><P>\u201cIn support of this very important milestone in the IPPP Programme, and to engage with potential bidders and other energy sector stakeholders, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), and the Independent Power Producers Office, will host a Bidders Conference [today].<\/P><P>\u201cThe conference will allow all stakeholders to engage with members of the DMRE and IPP Office on queries or clarification questions in relation to the released Request For Proposal,\u201d the DMRE said.<\/P><P>The department explained the importance of the current bid window.<\/P><P>\u201cThe REIPPPP Bid Window 6 is the second bidding round to be released in line with the Ministerial Determination of 25 September 2020 and calls for the procurement of up to 2600 megawatts (MW) renewable energy \u20131 000 MW from Solar Photovoltaic and 1 600 MW from Wind projects.<\/P><P>\u201cThe projects procured under this bid window will be required to reach commercial operation by 2024,\u201d the statement read.<\/P><P><\/P><P><\/P><P>Source: South African Government News Agency<\/P><P><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) will host a Bidders Conference today for renewable energy producers and stakeholders in relation to government\u2019s call for bids under the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Progr&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[73],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.5 -
