Park Road – Bloemfontein K-9 Unit members intercepted a truck loaded with Khat plants on Wednesday evening, 15 June 2022.<\/p>\n
Members were on patrol and, at about 20:00 the duo received an intelligence driven information about a truck on the N1 about to pass Bloemfontein en route to Cape Town.<\/p>\n
Members acted swiftly and halted the truck on the N1 just outside Bloemfontein. Police searched the truck and found 11 boxes filled with Khat plants. A truck driver aged 39 and two passengers aged 31 and 39 were apprehended for dealing in drugs worth about R 150 000-00. The trio will appear before Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon.<\/p>\n
General Baile Motswenyane, Free State Police Provincial Commissioner welcomed the arrest as these drugs will not land in the hands of the youth during the Youth Day.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
