Some good news on the Covid omicron front: South Africans who catch that variant are 80% less likely to be hospitalized than other variants. That\u2019s according to a study released by South Africa\u2019s National Institute for Communicable Diseases. The risk of severe disease is 70% lower for omicron sufferers than for sufferers of the delta strain, the study said. It looked at omicron data from October and November and delta data for April through November.
