WESTERN CAPE – Investigators deployed to bring serious and violent crimes suspects to book arrested two suspects who are expected to make their first court appearances on Monday, 20 December 2021 each on a count of murder.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
On Saturday, 18 December 2021 at about 13:00 members attached to the Knysna police arrested a 53-year-old suspect in connection with the death of a 37-year-old man.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Preliminary investigation indicates that the men had an argument when the victim was stabbed with a knife. The victim sustained a stab wound to the chest. He was declared dead by paramedics on scene. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The suspect was arrested shortly thereafter. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Knysna Magistrates\u2019 court tomorrow. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In an unrelated matter, investigation into the death of a 53-year-old man at Rietfontein, Calitzdorp during the early hours of this morning landed a 23-year-old man behind bars.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Police were dispatched to the scene at about 03:10 and on arrival found the victim who was later declared dead by medical personnel. An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be conducted early this week.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The circumstances surrounding this matter is under investigation. The motive for this killing is yet to be established.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The suspect remains in police custody. He will appear in court once charged.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
