{"id":35223,"date":"2021-11-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southafricagazette.com\/?guid=6988b7b32818705d3e9fd8bd1f182652"},"modified":"2021-11-15T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-11-15T00:00:00","slug":"at-least-eight-immigrants-die-in-boat-close-to-canary-islands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricagazette.com\/at-least-eight-immigrants-die-in-boat-close-to-canary-islands\/","title":{"rendered":"At Least Eight Immigrants Die In Boat, Close To Canary Islands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MADRID \u2013 Eight migrants were found dead in a boat, off the coast of the island of Gran Canaria, the Canary Island regional government confirmed yesterday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The boat, carrying 62 people of Maghrebi (Morocco) origin, was discovered by Maritime Rescue services, 65 kilometres off the south coast of the island on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Seven of the passengers, all male, had died by the time the boat was discovered, while an eighth died while being transferred to the port of Arguineguin.
