The SAPS 2019 Provincial Vispol Excellence Awards

POLOKWANE – The South African Police Service in Limpopo acknowledges the elegant priceless duties that members and personnel of the Police in various fields apply daily in this province by giving them accolades of the best executant with certificates during a glamorous event held on the 11th September 2019 at the SAPS Seshego Lapa in the outskirts of Polokwane.

The Provincial Vispol Management spearheaded by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for this environment, Major General Jan Scheepers, found it proper to give the best performers a token of recognition.

The nominees comprised of the Cluster Commanders, Station Commanders, Unit Commanders, Police Emergency Services (PES), Operational Respond Services (ORS), VISPOL and Police Operational Command Centre (POCC).

In attendance, was the SAPS Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Policing, Major General Jan Scheepers, the SAPS Giyani Cluster Commander Major General Mbazima Ngobeni, the SAPS Polokwane Cluster Commander Major General Mashilo, the SAPS Thohoyadou Cluster Commander Major General Rosina Mulaudzi, the SAPS Seshego Cluster Commander Major General Sam Mokgonyana, SAPS members and personnel from all levels of command across the Province supported by the private sector such as Fidelity, G4S and SBV.

In her welcoming and purpose of the day remarks, the SAPS Provincial Head of Operational Coordination Brigadier Dikeledi Mangena made it clear to the members of the Police that they must maintain their performance standard until crime is stabilized and normalized in the Province.

On the words of support by the private sector, the unconditional partnership Policing was over emphasized until incidents of crime especially the cash in transit heists across the province.

During his inspirational key note address, Major General Scheepers, began with a question, posed to each member present, he said, “Who do you believe you are?” and according to his view, ‘You are what you believe You are.’ “In this Province we are in desperate need of people who can represent hope, light and those who are role models.”

He gave this remark subjecting to crime, hatred and violent situations that are taking place in some parts of the country, were children, women and foreigners falls victims of circumstances.” All this happen because we no longer believe who we are.” He further commended the level of discipline and hardworking by members of the South African Police Service in the province, encouraging them to keep taking our flag to the highest level for ever.

He further said to the recipients that, “they must return to their respective work places and brag about these tokens, so that other members can be motivated and work harder.”

The categorised certificate issued to 117 best performers employees attached to various components and Units under the Visible Policing environment.
