Suspect arrested for dealing in dagga and bribery

HEIDEDAL – A crime prevention operation focussing on an identified alleged drug post was conducted by members of Visible Policing Unit and Support personnel of Heidedal Police Station today. During the patrols, the Support Commander, Captain Masolane and Sergeant Mokgothing (FLASH) spotted a vehicle at the identified premises in Ashbury and stopped it at about 12:00. The members approached the vehicle and asked for permission from the driver to search the vehicle which he granted.

Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered dagga in the vehicle. The 36-year-old African male then attempted to bribe the police with R100 for his release. The suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and bribery. A case docket was opened at Heidedal Police Station and the suspect is being detained in police custody. He will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 30 March 2022.
