Stolen cattle seized by stock theft unit

DURBAN: On 22 August 2022, the Kokstad Stock Theft Unit received information about cattle that were hidden at a farm in Swartburg. The team proceeded to the identified farm and 19 stolen cattle were recovered.

Despite an intensive investigation the suspects could not be located. Two individuals were identified as the owners of the livestock at Madresini in Intsikeni and the stolen stock was positively identified. It is reported that the cattle were stolen over the weekend and the owners were not aware that their cattle went missing. It was established that the cattle was waiting to be transported to Lesotho.
