Provincial Commissioner welcomes newly trained police officers

MTHATHA – The Provincial Commissioner of the Eastern Cape, Lt Gen Nomthetheleli Mene addressed a group of 180 newly trained police officers that are deployed in OR Tambo and Alfred Nzo districts at the SAPS Academy in Mthatha on Tuesday, 20 December 2022
The newly trained officers will also form part of the deployments to enhance police visibility during the Festive Season period.
Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Mene during her speech warned officers about corruption and the consequences of not adhering to policy transcripts of the SAPS. “Never sell your careers for any amount of money”, added Lt Gen Mene.
The day ended with Lt Gen Mene leading from the front as they patrolled the streets of Mthatha, reliving this year’s Festive Season theme of “More boots on the ground towards enhanced police visibility. The Provincial Commissioner will continue with a similar address in Komani tomorrow.
