Police request the public to assist reunite Luyanda Ngwenya (18) with her family

NELSPRUIT – Police in Tonga would like to request the community’s assistance in locating Ms Luyanda Ngwenya (18) who went missing from her home in Mzinti.

Luyanda, who is said to be pregnant, was last seen by her male friend on 26 January 2023 and she was then reported missing by her family at Tonga Police Station on 28 January 2023.

According to the male friend, he last saw her on the day she went missing during the time when she visited him and on that day she even requested money for a haircut.

Few days later, it is said that Ngwenya’s younger sister got a strange note with messages, biding her goodbye. At this stage Police cannot confirm the authenticity of the note however an investigation is ongoing to locate her as well as to verify the message received by the sibling.

Anyone who might have information that may assist in reuniting Ngwenya with her family can contact Tonga SAPS on 082 448 9481 or call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111. Alternatively members of the public can send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
