By Sisipho Skweyiya CAPE TOWN (Reuters) -The Omicron variant dampened New Year festivities around much of the world, cancelling celebrations at Paris’s Arc de Triomphe and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, although Cape Town rang in 2022 with the lifting of a nighttime curfew after two years of COVID-19 restrictions.
