DUTYWA – Police operations in Dutywa led to the recovery of a substantial amount of drugs and cash last night, 23 September 2021.

As part of crime prevention duties, Police embarked on multi-disciplinary operations focusing on safety and security of the community in Dutywa policing precinct. Police received information about a house that sells drugs in GPO Informal Settlement in town. They swiftly proceeded to a house where they recovered a bag and half loose dagga, eleven shopping bags full of loose dagga, one hundred and ten bompies of dagga all that weighs 30kg, thirty small bags of TIK, one hundred and ten mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash. Drugs to the estimated value of more than R10, 000.00 was confiscated by Police and a 38-year-old male was immediately arrested for dealing in drugs.

The suspect is due to appear at Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 27 September 2021.
