Offenders of the law will face their day in court when found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition

WESTERN CAPE – Police members in the Western Cape responded to their instinct and arrested suspects in isolated incidents in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Clanwilliam police members were busy with routine patrols on the N7 in the early hours of Tuesday 01 November 2022 when they spotted a suspicious vehicle driving at high speed in the direction of Cape Town. The members gave chase and stopped the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle and the occupant, they confiscated an Uzzi firearm and ammunition. The man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Delft police were busy with crime prevention duties on Wednesday 02 November in their precinct. As the convoy entered Delft Main Road, they stopped and searched a 16 year old male and confiscated a 9mm pistol with ammunition. The male was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Once charged, the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Clanwilliam and Bellville Magistrate court’s on the mentioned charges.
