New Jersey eked out another single-day record for COVID-19 cases on Friday, reporting 15,630 people testing positive for the virus just a day after the state shattered its previous record. The state also reported 27 additional confirmed deaths. Christmas Eve was the second day in a row that the state reported in excess of 15,000 cases. Thursday’s figure was 15,482.
