Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams and Deputy Minister Dipuo Peters launch a green health innovation business in Woodstock, 16 May

The Minister and Deputy Minister for Small Business Development are scheduled to launch the exciting Green Health Innovations t/a Spinach business on 16 May 2023.

The launch is part of the post Budget Vote Speech engagement, aimed at showcasing the continued work of the department in the delivery of its mandate to empower small businesses. The business was supported during the Covid 19 pandemic through the Township and Rural Economic Programme (TREP), then steadily grew and centralised to bakery operations. The business manufactures gluten free spinach bread and other green health products including smoothies, sandwiches, and burgers. Through the Youth Challenge Fund (one of the Departments empowerment programmes), the entrepreneur managed to setup a new bakery plant based in Woodstock, Cape Town and has since employed 20 permanent employees.
