Minister Ramokgopato lead a frontline monitoring visit to the Saldanha Industrial Development Zone

The Minister and Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Maropene Ramokgopa and Pinky Kekana, will lead a team of monitors for an assessment of socio-economic catalytic projects at the Saldanha Industrial Development Zone.

The Saldanha Industrial Developmental Zone is one of the nodal points that have been identified to stimulate economic growth and development. The model that has been deployed at Saldanha Industrial Development Zone is consistent with the District Development Model (DDM), which promotes integration and collaboration between government and the private sector.

During the visit, the Minister and Deputy Minister will interact with all stakeholders and identify areas that have a potential to delay or hinder development. The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation will subsequently develop an improvement plan to ensure speedy resolution of the challenges.
