Man stabbed to death by housemate

WINDHOEK: A 28-year-old man was allegedly found dead with multiple stab wounds in Katutura on Sunday.

A weekend crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force on Sunday indicated that the deceased, identified as Denis Kaixob, was found at around 01h00.

It is alleged that the victim was involved in a fight with his housemate, a 26-year-old suspect, who found him with girlfriends in their living room. The suspect then allegedly stabbed Kaixob with a knife on the left side of his chest, arm, and cheek. Kaixob was declared dead at the scene by City of Windhoek paramedics.

The murder weapon was recovered from the scene, and the suspect was arrested.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of his death.

In an unrelated case, a woman and her housemates were allegedly attacked and robbed by three unknown suspects on Friday at 22h30 at Long Island Street in Windhoek’s Rocky Crest residential area.

The victim was allegedly locking the entrance door of their home when she was attacked by the suspects, with
one being armed and the other holding a tyre lever.

The suspects allegedly dragged the victim to a bedroom, where the other housemates were found sleeping. They were then instructed to cover their faces with blankets as the suspects continued to steal four cellphones, four laptops, three wedding rings, a television set and a wallet with documents.

The suspects allegedly continued to ambush the owner of the house while he was parking his car in the garage, taking his cellphone, wallet and wedding ring.

No recovery or arrests have been made, and the value of all stolen items is yet unknown.

Police investigations continue for both cases.
