Nongoma: Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson will on Monday pay a courtesy visit to His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini at the KwaKhangela Royal Palace in Nongoma. During this visit, Minister Macpherson intends to discuss several key infrastructure initiatives with the King.
According to South African Government News Agency, the Minister will present the department’s plans for infrastructure delivery in KwaZulu-Natal. This will include sharing information on ongoing construction and maintenance projects, as well as job creation efforts through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). Additionally, the Minister will cover the implementation of infrastructure reforms, such as the upcoming Social Facilitation Framework (SFF), which aims to enhance delivery performance in the province.
Minister Macpherson will be accompanied by KwaZulu-Natal Public Works and Infrastructure Member of the Executive Council Martin Meyer, along with other key officials. These include the Chairperson of the Independent Development Trust, Zimbini Hill; Chairperson of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Khulile Nzo; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Council for the Built Environment, Dr. Msizi Myeza.
