Livestock recovered and handed over to the lawful owner

PHUTHADITJHABA – The Phuthaditjhaba Stock Theft Unit together with a local farmer recovered 18 stolen cattle at Wetsie’s cave and Junior Camp. This follows after the tracks were followed leading to the recovery of the cattle.

On Sunday, 16 January 2022 at approximately 05:00, the police received a complaint from a farmer about his 28 missing livestock. The Stock Theft Unit investigators were activated and they followed the tracks of the livestock together with the farmer up until Monontsa Village at Wetsie’s cave and Junior Camp. A total of 18 Bonsmara cattle and 10 other livestock are still missing.

After verification, the recovered cattle were handed over to the lawful owner.

“Property related crimes such as Stock Theft has an immense negative impact on the economy of this country. Therefore, we urge the people to report any suspicious persons or vehicles transporting livestock at their nearest police station or call the Crime Stop 08600 10111 or MySaps App.
