Inquest opened after three family members burned to death in a shack fire

Uitenhage Cluster: Police are investigating an inquest after three members of a family died after their informal home allegedly burned down at about 04:45 this morning, Thursday, 14 June 2018. The family resides at the back of the main home in 75 24th Avenue, Langa (Kamesh), Uitenhage and were still asleep when the home allegedly caught fire. Police and the Fire Department were summoned to the scene where the home was engulfed in flames. The victims were: The mother, (35) and her twins (both boys). The father (42), the sole survivor, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage and it is under investigation.

The acting Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brigadier Laurence Soekoe expressed his sincere condolences towards the family for their big lost.
