KEETMANSHOOP: The Popular Democratic Movement’s coordinator for the ||Kharas Region, Charles Pieter, has said the late President Hage Geingob’s unwavering dedication to public service inspired generations and left an indelible imprint on the fabric of society.
Pieter, who was speaking here on Wednesday during the ||Kharas Region memorial service in honour of Geingob, said throughout the late president’s tenure he championed causes close to people’s hearts, tirelessly advocating for justice, equality, and prosperity for all.
‘The late president fulfilled his political purpose and carried this nation, therefore his name will gleam in the annals of history. Beyond the corridors of power, he was a beacon of hope and compassion, extending a hand of friendship to allies and adversaries alike,’ said Pieter.
He stated the late president’s legacy of diplomacy and statesmanship transcends borders, reminding Namibians of the power of dialogue and cooperation in building a more just and peaceful world.
‘Let us seize
the strength of the late president’s enduring legacy in this time of sorrow to remember his limitless optimism, undaunted resolve and profound commitment to mankind’s welfare. May his memory serve as a guiding light, inspiring us to strive towards a brighter future based on the principles of justice, equality and kindness,’ he added.
Landless People’s Movement regional communication manager, Kallie Goliath said the late president strove to fight against inequality. He said the life of the late Geingob was characterised by a deep devotion to public service as under his visionary leadership he made significant strides in building a strong and resilient economy, improving the lives of many while promoting sustainable development across the southern African regions.
Goliath said after Geingob took over the presidency, Namibia faced enormous challenges, including in economic growth. He said the late president through his political leadership and worldwide networking still put Namibia on the world map.

under the late president became a beacon of progress in harnessing its natural resources for the benefit of its people. Long live the legacy of the late president,’ he said.
