Four men arrested for dealing in drugs in Deben

DEBEN – On Saturday, 5 November 2022 at about 09:30, two men, aged 29 and 30 respectively, were arrested for being in possession of drugs.
It is reported that Deben SAPS members received a tip off from the community that of an alleged drug house in Soweto section.
On arrival at that house, Tik and mandrax tablets with estimated street value of R3800 as well as an undisclosed amount of money were confiscated.
The two suspects were arrested and charged for dealing in drugs.
Later the same day at about 10:30 the community came forward with more information about of a second house also in Soweto section where drugs are alleged to be sold.
The members searched the house of the 31-year-old man and found with 129 sachets of dagga with an estimated street value of R1290-00.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man was also charged for dealing in or possession of dagga and found in possession of dagga to the value of R50 000-00.
The District Commissioner of John Taolo Gaetsewe, Major General Jonny Besnaar commended the members for their relentless efforts in clamping down on drug peddling and also extended his gratitude to the community for conveyed valuable information about criminal activities in their area. He indicated that there will be more boots on the ground to increase police visibility in area this period and beyond.
All suspects will appear before the Kathu magistrate Court soon.
