Female in court for alleged homeloan fraud

GAUTENG – Vamisile Mthimkhulu (37) appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Monday, 15 August 2022 for alleged home loan fraud.

The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team arrested Mthimkhulu on Friday,12 August 2022 at the border post of Beitbridge following a probe into alleged fraud in respect of a home loan application to the value R950 000-00. It is alleged that in October 2016, the accused applied for home loan from the bank through an estate agent using fraudulent documents which included a forged payslip and bank statements.

The said loan for a house in Kempton Park was consequently declined and seemingly, Mthimkhulu was under the impression that she had gotten away with the attempted crime until she was arrested recently.

The court granted Mthimkhulu R2000-00 bail and she is expected back in court on 02 September 2022 for disclosure of docket contents.
