Public Service Ethics Week: Deputy Minister Pilane-Majake to share update on government’s effort to promote ethical conduct in the public service
As the Integrated Public Service Month continue, the Deputy Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Dr Chana Pilane-Majake will on Monday, 19 September 2022, outline the activities of the upcoming Ethics Week (19- 23 September), which is led by the Public Administration Ethics Integrity and Disciplinary Technical Assistance Unit (PA-EID-TAU), a Unit at the DPSA, created to fight corruption and to promote ethics in the public administration.

The Deputy Minister will provide an update on the efforts by the department to deal with issues of corruption and ethical conduct through the strengthening of government’s oversight, as well as promoting and enhancing good ethics and integrity in the public administration.

The week-long Ethics Week will be comprised of the launch of the Ethics Survey Report, as well as series of engagement forums with various stakeholders including ethics officers and labour relations officials within the public service, representatives from the Office of the Director of Public Officers’ Declaration (ODPOD) of Malawi and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) – Southern Africa.

The Technical Assistance Unit was launched in September 2020 in line with the Public Administration Management Act (PAMA) of 2014 to set norms and standards aimed at addressing issues related to ethical conduct and corruption in the public administration.
