FREE STATE – A man and woman were arrested for dealing in drugs in Oppermansdorp.

On Wednesday, 05 October 2022 at 09:00, members of Welkom Public Order Policing proceeded to Oppermansdorp for crime combating duties and received intelligence led information about alleged drug dealers in Koffiefontein delivering drugs in their small town.

The team approached the first house in Skool Street, Koffiefontein and found a male who attempted to evade arrest however, swift action by police stopped the suspect in his tracks.

Upon searching the premises, members recovered drugs such as mandrax tablets, crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash. The 40-year-old male was arrested for dealing in drugs.

In another incident, members proceed to another house in the same street and arrested a 58-year-old woman after she was found with mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash hidden inside the toilet in her house.

Drugs with an estimated street value of R65 000-00 were taken off the streets. Both suspects will appear in the Koffiefontein Magistrate’s Court for dealing in drugs soon.
