South Africa/Burkina Faso: Mashaba Names Starting 11 to Play Burkina Faso

Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba has named his starting 11 that will take the field against Burkina Faso at Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 8 October 2016. The match that will be played in Burkina Faso’s capital of Ougadougou kicks off at 20h00 SA time.

First choice goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune retains his place and the back four will comprise of captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, Erick ‘Tower’ Mathoho, Thabo Matlaba and Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

Keagan Dolly, Dean Furman, Hlompho Kekana and Thulani Serero will anchor the midfield while Mpho Makola and Eleazer Rodgers will lead the strike force.

SA Starting X1 v Burkina Faso:

Itumeleng Khune, Thulani Hlatshwayo (C), Erick Mathoho, Thabo Matlaba, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Keagan Dolly, Dean Furman, Hlompho Kekana, Thulani Serero, Mpho Makola, Eleazer Rodgers.

Presidency notes Constitutional Court judgement

The Presidency says it has noted the decision by the Constitutional Court to refuse to hear the application for leave to appeal at this stage.

The application was brought by the National Prosecuting Authority in respect of the review proceedings relating to corruption charges against President Jacob Zuma.

The President awaits the decision of the Supreme Court of Appeal in respect of a petition which he launched on the same matter, the Presidency said in a statement.
